Remote help from Maxwell

CashDesk

A small app that lets me see your screen and fix the problem with you, from wherever I am. It only connects when you give me the code, and you can end it any time.

FREE FOR CLIENTS · WINDOWS · UBUNTU · ANDROID

How the Ubuntu and Android versions work

Four steps, about two minutes

How it works

Keep me on the phone while you do this. I'll walk you through it.

1

Download

Click Download CashDesk above. Your browser saves CashDesk.exe, usually to your Downloads folder.

2

Open it

Double-click the file. If Windows shows a blue warning, click More info, then Run anyway. See below for why.

3

Read me your code

CashDesk shows Your ID and a one-time password. Read both to me on the phone.

4

Click Accept

When I connect, CashDesk asks your permission. Click Accept, and I'll see your screen. Close CashDesk when we're done.

About that blue box

"Windows protected your PC"

Windows shows this for any program it hasn't seen many people download. CashDesk is new and built just for my clients, so Windows doesn't know it yet. It isn't a sign that anything is wrong.

Click More info, then Run anyway. If you're unsure, stop and call me. I'm happy to stay on the line.

Click "More info" first, then "Run anyway"

On Ubuntu or Debian CASHDESK-X86_64.DEB

  1. Download the installer. It lands in your Downloads folder.
  2. Open a terminal and run sudo apt install ./Downloads/CashDesk-x86_64.deb, then type your password.
  3. Open CashDesk from your apps and read me the ID and one-time password it shows.
Download for Ubuntu

On an Android phone or tablet CASHDESK.APK

  1. Download the app in your phone's browser and open the file when it finishes.
  2. If Android asks, allow installs from this browser, then tap Install.
  3. Open CashDesk and read me the ID and one-time password. When I connect, tap Accept and allow screen sharing when Android asks.

Nothing happens without you

CashDesk is a remote-support tool, not a back door. Here's what that means in practice.

Only with your code

I can't connect unless you give me the ID and password shown on your screen. The password changes every time.

You see everything

Every click I make happens on your screen in front of you. Ask me what I'm doing at any point.

End it any time

Click Disconnect or close CashDesk and the session ends at once. You can uninstall it like any other app.

A private connection

The connection is encrypted and runs through my own server, not a third-party support company.

Good to know

Questions people ask

Does it cost anything?

No. CashDesk is free for my clients. You only pay for the support work itself, as we agree on the phone.

Can you help when I'm not at the computer?

For regular clients, I can set CashDesk up with a permanent password so I can do maintenance without you at the keyboard. I'll only do that with your OK, and you can remove it any time.

I'm on a Mac, iPhone or iPad.

Mac and iPhone/iPad aren't supported yet. CashDesk runs on Windows, Ubuntu and Android. Call me and we'll find another way to get you sorted.

Someone else called claiming to be me.

I'll only ever send you to cashconsults.com for CashDesk, and I'll be on the phone with you when you use it. If in doubt, hang up and call me on 704‑292‑6994.

CashDesk is built on RustDesk, open-source software licensed under AGPL-3.0.
